Workspaces is a development preview. It works and people use it every day, but you may hit occasional bugs or downtime, features may be added, changed or removed, and there is no uptime SLA during the beta. By purchasing a workspace you join our early adopter program, described in the Workspaces section of our Terms of Service at layerbase.com/terms. Keep your own backups of anything important, such as by pushing your code to GitHub.

A private Linux server that belongs to you, running Ubuntu 24.04, with Node.js 24, pnpm, Docker and Git ready to go. You bring the coding agents you already pay for, and they work there instead of on your laptop.

Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Devin, Cursor and Grok Build. Gemini support is coming soon. You sign in with your own account for each one, so your existing subscription is what you use.

Yes. Workspaces gives your agents somewhere to run. The agents themselves use your own accounts with each vendor, exactly as they would on your laptop.

Starter (2 vCPUs, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB storage) at $10.00, Builder (4 vCPUs, 8 GB RAM, 75 GB storage) at $18.00 and Power (6 vCPUs, 12 GB RAM, 100 GB storage) at $25.00, per month. Each workspace is billed monthly at a fixed price with no usage metering. Applicable tax is calculated at checkout.

Each workspace is a monthly subscription that renews until you cancel. Stopping a workspace does not pause billing. When you cancel, the workspace keeps working until the end of the period you paid for. After access ends, the workspace and its files may be permanently deleted, so push your code and export anything you need before then.

Refunds follow the billing terms in our Terms of Service at layerbase.com/terms. A workspace suspended or terminated for fraud or abuse is not refunded, as the acceptable use policy describes.

Not directly. Outbound connections to mail servers on ports 25, 465, 587 are blocked to keep workspace addresses off spam lists. Send through a transactional email API such as Resend, Postmark or Amazon SES over HTTPS instead, which works normally.

Yes. Every workspace has a Terminal tab in the dashboard with a real shell, no SSH key needed. Sessions keep running when you close the tab. You can drag in or paste images, PDFs and text files, up to 20 MB each and 5 at a time, and the file path is typed for your agent.

Yes. Add your SSH public key and connect from any terminal, or open the workspace from VS Code, Cursor, Devin and Zed with one link.

Install the Layerbase GitHub App and choose which repositories the workspace may reach. They are cloned under ~/dev, and you can change the selection later.

Workspaces are for building software. Mining cryptocurrency, attacking or scanning other systems, sending spam, running proxies, VPNs or anonymizing services, and hosting anything illegal are not allowed, and a workspace used for them is suspended without a refund. Sign in to Layerbase, open Workspaces in the dashboard, pick a size and a location, and check out. Setup usually takes 5 to 8 minutes.
